Virginia 4:00 P.M. Burn Law – February 15 to April 30
2/13/2026
Please be aware that Virginia’s annual 4:00 P.M. Burn Law is now in effect. This seasonal restriction helps reduce the risk of wildfires during peak fire season.
Key Rules:
-
No burning is allowed between midnight and 4:00 P.M. if the fire is within 300 feet of woods, brush, or dry grass.
-
Burning is permitted after 4:00 P.M., but all fires must be completely extinguished by midnight.
Reminder:
Even small fires can quickly become dangerous under dry conditions. Please follow all guidelines to keep our community safe.
Applies to fires within 300 feet of woods, brush, or dry grass.
Stay safe and thank you for helping prevent wildfires!
